Wurmhotel and its parent project Wurmkiste are putting forth their effort towards the Waste Framework Directive of the EU, that every person should have access to a collection point for organic waste by the end of 2023. How important is the treatment of biowaste, for the reduction of CO2 emissions? The recycling of organic waste in urban centers can help to contribute agricultural phosphorus and reduce imports, in addition to avoiding burning waste.
